According to the Gospel of John, Saint Lazarus was a resident of the town of Bethany and the brother of Martha and Mary. He fell gravely ill and eventually died. When Jesus arrived in Bethany, he was deeply moved by the sorrow of Lazarus' sisters and the mourning of those present. Jesus, displaying his divine power, called Lazarus out of the tomb, and Lazarus emerged alive, restored to life by the grace of Jesus.

A Prayer to Saint Lazarus

O blessed Saint Lazarus, Patron of the sick and those afflicted, You who experienced the depths of illness, Yet received the miraculous healing touch of Jesus.

I come before you in my time of illness, Seeking your intercession and heavenly aid. Please present my prayers before the throne of God, And ask for His mercy and healing grace upon me.

Saint Lazarus, compassionate friend of the afflicted, I humbly ask for your powerful intercession. Pray for my physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, That I may experience relief from my illness and suffering.

May the divine physician, Jesus Christ, Pour forth His healing balm upon my body and soul. Grant me strength, patience, and perseverance, To endure this trial with faith and trust in God's plan.
