How to Use a Black Sage Smudge Stick

Here is a simple guide on how to burn a Black Sage Smudge Stick:

• Prepare your space: Choose a location for your smudging ceremony where you won't be interrupted. Open windows or doors to allow the smoke to circulate freely.
• Light the smudge stick: Light the end of the smudge stick with a lighter or a match. Hold the smudge stick over a fireproof dish to catch any falling ashes.
• Fan the smoke: Use a feather or your hand to direct the smoke towards yourself and the objects or areas you want to purify. You can also fan the smoke using a fan or a piece of paper.
• Set an intention: As you smudge, focus on your intention for the ceremony. This can be anything from purifying your energy field to attracting positive energy into your life.
• Move through your space: Start at the entrance to your home or room and move clockwise, directing the smoke into every corner and crevice. You can also smudge yourself, your pets, and any objects you want to purify.
• Extinguish the smudge stick: When you're done smudging, gently extinguish the smudge stick by pressing it into a fireproof dish or sand. Do not blow out the smudge stick as this can spread the smoke and ash.
• Clean up: Dispose of the fireproof dish and any ashes in a safe manner.
